Bicky Lee Dresses Photo Shoot (from awhile back)

Awhile back I did a photo shoot for a locally known designer Bicky Lee. It was so much fun to get the chance to have fabulous pictures taken of me in a fabulous dress!! Bicky Lee is a brilliant designer who describes here style as Oscar De La Renta and Betsey Johnson's love child. In my opinion you can't get much better than that! Well I decided to post these pictures because Bicky Lee has finally started a blog to show others her genius. Plus she surprised me by putting up some of the pictures of me. So here are some samples, but go check out the link to her blog for more pictures!

I loved playing around in "The Grey Dress" so much that I told her she has to make me a wedding dress similar to it when time comes. By "when time comes" I mean she better be around for at least 6 more years, because there is almost no way a wedding would be sooner then that. Seriously I'm only twenty I have years of freedom yet to be lived.

John Hughes the Creator of What Truely Made the 80's

As I am sure many of you have heard the legendary John Hughes passed away this last Thursday of a sudden heart attack. His death touched the hearts of all those he ever worked with. Especially those privileged enough to work with his during his rein as the 80's movie mastermind, such as Molly Ringwald who worked as a lead in 3 of his movies. I once heard a saying that goes like this the 70's were all about staying alive, but it is the 80's that still live on. Hughes is why this statement is true. I can't think of anyone I know who hasn't seen, or at very least heard of, Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

But if you were to ask me...I LOVE the Ringwald trifecta! Sixteen Candles, Pretty In Pink, and The Breakfast Club. These have been my favorite movies since about the age of twelve. Maybe that explains my love for short hair during my high school years?

What are your favorite John Hughes movies? Or what are some of your favorite 80's movies in general?

{Art.esia} Music You Should Know

You read right {Art.esia}. What you never heard of this band? That could be because its maker, Drew Davidson, pretty much keeps to himself as far as music advertisement goes. It is ok though since he can just rely on his "cult" following (if you will) to get the word out. Drew started to obtained this following, originating in Southern Utah, as drummer of his band Autumn Rhodes. As AR's reputation grew so did Drew's fans base, which worked strongly in his favor as he started his next band, In:Aviate, with fellow AR band mate and lead singer, Ryan Randall. In:Aviate popularity grew to new heights and they even laded being signed to Rise Records. But before they released their second album Drew decided to leave and peruse his own thing. I am grateful he did because {Art.esia} is new and refreshing, like a breath of fresh air. No more hiding behind a drum set like in his previous 2 bands, this time around Drew is the front man. Doing it all, the music and the lyrics. Do yourself a favor and take a road trip to see one of his show, that’s what I'm doing.

Check at his myspace you wonldn't be dissapointed!

Owed to the 80s from a Fashionable Four-Eyes

Glasses: Gloria Vanderbilt, Dress: H&M, Belt: Betsey Johnson, Biker Shorts, Shoes: Gianni Bini

My new glasses finally arrived and I am loving them to bits! Everyone was skeptical about me getting big rim "granny glasses" but now they see just how fabulous they really are. I am grateful to finally have a pair of glasses I can see out of without turning my head trying to avoid the fishbowl effect. Long live the big rim 80s glasses!!!

Confession of an iPod Addict

I don't know how many of you have iPods, but I do know that without mine I would die. Simple as that. I have had an iPod for the past eight years, give or take a few months, and I can scarcely recall more than a handful of day that I haven't listened to my iPod. Excessive you may say, but not when the only music for my car is in the form of an iPod. Think about it people, how often do you do listen to music? While you drive, hanging around the house, or even excersising. Now for the sad part...my iPod suddenly died a few weeks back!!!! Unbelievable I know. Well I made do with my little shuffle for a while, but it couldn't cure the craving for an iPod. So I went to Costco intent on buying a green 16 GB iPod Nano. They didn't even stock 16GB :( I was crushed. That is when my father decided he would reveal a big secret...."Oh you wanted a new 16GB iPod because yours broke? Well I have a blue one I never use." "WHAT?!?!" I couldn't believe he had been holding out on me, but I am now greatful to have a new iPod. Even if it isn't green. Now the trick will be trying to decide which songs will fill the space...

SeneGence...Color My Lips and Keep It That Way

Saturday I went to the What Women Want Expo in my city, and I was left wanting! There were lots of booths with all sorts of things you can eat and buy. One of my favorite booths was the one selling taser guns. I think every girl should eventually invest in one of those precious gadgets. However, that was not my absolute favorite booth. That award goes to the SeneGence booth. Every time I passed the SeneGence area it was crowded with women trying on lip color, the occational eye shadow, and other types of make-up. Naturally this buzz sparked my curiosity. With only a few minutes remaining in the expo I seized the oppertunity to see what SeneGence is all about. It is make up that is supposed to last all day, no matter what you do. Eat, swim, sleep, dance, or whatever the day holds it will stay on and look fresh. Let me tell you I was not disapointed! I was going to a concert later that night so I chose to apply a pinky color that would be funky and fun. Before the show I went to In and Out to grab some food. After two cheese burgers, and drinking a shake through a straw I went to the bath room to check out the lip situation. Guess what I found...it was PERFECT! So I took off for the show, where I talked and smiled to plenty of cute boys, and rocked to some awesome bands. When I finally headed for home I checked my lips in the rear view mirror....still PERFECT! This all took place in about a 8 hour period, I couldn't believe SeneGence had lasted me so long, and managed to look amazing the whole time! I don't know about you, but I'm about to stock up on my SeneGence lip colors!!!
